I really want to change. People say change can be a good thing, well, I approve. 

Every girl wants to look pretty, wants to feel pretty…right? I thought, since next year will be my senior year, why not make it the best year ever? I want to try putting on some make up, get rid of glasses, wear some decent clothes, lose some weight and feel good about myself. 

The past three years I’ve been studying and not caring about looks, so I want to try next year. So, over the  summer, I’m going to try to change. I just want to try, that’s all.

Despite my abnormally frequent wanting of food, I want to start getting fit for the summer. I have about a month till my 18th birthday, and I want to stop feeling like crap. 

It’s true that I eat very frequently, and I’m not saying that I’ll starve, but I can start with having one less chocolate bar a day. And I’ll satisfy my cravings with much “healthier” foods, like fruits and veggies. I’ll make sure to exercise as much as I can a day, I wonder if I’ll commit to these things regularly, but hey, writing it down is one step forward!

Oh, and I PROMISED myself that I will stop eating school food. No more fries, no more nachos, no more fried chicken ( I can’t add pizza to the list…I have to live).

Lastly, I finally bought some Shape Up’s!!! Yayy! I’ll be one step closer to my dream weight day by day.

Dang it.

I can’t get rid of this awful habit I have: eating in front of my computer.

I come home from school, go straight to the rice cooker, put some rice in a bowl, and start mixing random side dishes together to go upstairs and eat. It’s much easier to eat that way because you only need one utensil– a spoon.

The meal I make tastes great, I don’t complain about that. The problem is that I forget to, or am lazy to take the empty bowl back downstairs. Now I have a stack of bowls and spoons right next to my computer; it’s so messy and unorganized!

I always promise myself to clean up after myself, but it’s easier said than done. As I write this, I can’t help but stare at the bowls taking over my desk…

Guess what my mom made for the first time today. If you guessed from the title, you are absolutely correct. Guacamole.

Being the traditional, Korean mother she is, she never had the opportunity or need to make this, till today. A few months ago, she got a new job at this salon. She was always hired at Korean salons, but she wanted to try something different and applied to an American salon, and lucky for her she got the job!

Anyway, she started hanging out with American people more and more, and she saw that they were packing food that she never saw before in her life, like feta cheese on salads, cream cheese on bagels, sour cream, and guacamole. So a few days ago, she came home from the market with a bunch of avocados.

“What is all this for, mom?”

“Oh, I saw that the people I work with was eating chips with something called ‘Guacamole’, and it was delicious!”

Yeah. So, she wanted to make more and enjoy that new discovery in her taste buds. I love my mom, she’s so cute. But she is so traditional, I was surprised when I found out she didn’t know what cream cheese or sour cream was. Those two are like one of my favorite foods, seriously.

She made it just a while ago, and it was very delectable. I enjoyed it very much, thank you mother. I wonder if I can introduce her to all my favorite foods from now so we can both pig out on them…hmmm.
